Garmin Motorcycle Audio and Power Cable for StreetPilot 2610

This product works great and serves my needs perfectly. it connects to the battery with an inline fuse present and is plenty long enough to run it to the handle bars.
Purchased this cable for my Garmin Streetpilot 2820 and it works superbly. The wiring is simple, power and ground. The audio cable’s 2.5mm socket is too small so I use the socket on the Garmin to listen to the mp3 player and voice commands while navigating. This cable also makes it easier to mount and dismount the unit when the bike is parked and unattended.
Does what it is supposed to do, powers your gps…comes with plenty of cable…depending on the motorcycle, the amount of cable supplied may be excessive.
This is the best way to get your bike ready for a Street Pilot. The fuse is a real PLUS! As I’ve learned blowing several of them, there are a few things to be aware of. I connected the power to my B+ connection (I ride a Road King Classic and didn’t want to probe in to the headlight nacelle to get to the switched connection) and the gps unit needs to be turned OFF when the bike is started. If not, most times the fuse will blow–protecting the unit of course. Also, I store the cable under the handlebar when not in use. The power plug MUST be protected from water (as in taping on the plastic cover) or else the fuse blows when the bike is washed.
Installed quickly and works well. Although the connection is very straight forward, no directions came with the cable.
