Built NY E-GPS-OLV Hoodie Portable GPS Case

I really love the designs of the Built NY line, but was disappointed to realize that I could not use their laptop sleeves for my 17″ Macbook Pro (the sleeves run small). I knew I needed a case for my Nintendo DS Lite, and I wanted as slim a case as possible. I went back to the Amazon listings to search for something that would fit my DS, and decided to try this GPS cover. It fits perfectly!!! I love this item, the system fits snug in the front, and I have some loose games in the pocket in the back (to keep it from being too bulky, I didn’t put a game case or the A/C adapter back there, though it’d fit). Wonderful product – and it also fits my Garmin Nüvi GPS.
The idea in design of the stretchy hoodie snug-on-top is to give you some effort into opening and closing so that the device do not slide out. Because it’s new and unused, for the first several times, it is a pain to take out and put in the GPS. After when you’ve used it enough, it will become more easily accessible. The protection it gives is sufficient enough for you to protect from scratches, dirt and spills. After a long period of useage, I find this product to be fair.
The tip in protecting your GPS with this product is to flip the GPS around. Have the screen face inside, not out. You want the hard shell to protect the screen. I totally understand this idea and not have it face out as it is made of soft fabric material.
Did I mention there is a hard shell tray inside? The tray is inside the fabric so you won’t be able to interact with it.
It says there is a pocket in the back but there is not enough space in the back to put other items. At least not enough for any big objects like car adaptors. Don’t expect to put anything big because it will limit the hood and you won’t be able to close it.
No dedicated SD Card pouch.
Looks are deceiving. It is not a pouch with soft material around it. It is a tray with stretchy fabric material around it.
This little sock does exactly what I bought it for – to protect my Nuvi 765 from damage when it was not being used (either in the drawer at home or in the center console/glovebox when in the car). It has a hard plastic piece as the backside of the sock so when I put the GPS unit in there I put the LCD screen face down.
The sock is light and easy to manipulate. Well worth the purchase and I am very happy with it.
You will most likely not be able to get the charger cord or anything else in with the GPS unit, but I don’t think this is being sold to also hold those items.
Great design that is typical of Built NY. Color makes it stand out. Center of case is rigid to protect the 4.3″ touchscreen. Back pocket will hold a car or wall charger but makes it look lumpy.
I just wanted to weigh in on this product myself. I have my Garmin Nuvi in the pouch right now with the car charging cord in the back section and the whole thing was super easy to put in and pull the hood over the front. I have been using the same pouch for a portable hard drive and it also works great for that. Additionally, I have one of the small camera hoodies by Built NY and have had my camera in that for over a year. All the products work great. In fact, I had a pen leak in my purse and a huge spot got on the camera hoodie. It didn’t go through to the camera at all and came out very easily with some stain remover. I wouldn’t hesitate for a minute to buy this and am actually about to buy two more.
